Hello dear readers, I cannot believe it, but as of June 1, 2019, P is for Positive officially turns one year old!! It is so inconceivable to think about the journey I've been on in the year of this blog's existence. I really didn't think I'd still be writing on the blog up till this point, and there were several two- and three-month hiatuses (hiati?) in the mix but it's because I just wrote to write when I felt the need to.

First, Thanks
I want to take a minute to sincerely appreciate those who have supported me in this blog adventure. It really does take a village, and I am so thankful for my fellow villagers who have encouraged me to keep writing even when I felt like no one was reading or I didn't feel like I deserved to tell my story. My family, friends, girlfriend, old faces, new faces. If you have even so much as visited this site and looked at it, let alone share it, I want to thank you. Writing is so innately human and for me, it's a strong statement of my existence. I have these words and they are powerful and I will use them to create power. I will say the things that I believe or want so badly to believe. The mind loves a story.
I have to admit my writing style is pretty sloppy. But it's not necessarily meant to be a model of the MLA format with New York Times-level grammar editing. It's meant to be me just sitting and hashing it out, to make coherent the craziness that goes on in my brain. This in itself has been its own form of therapy (along with doing actual therapy. Lord knows I need all the help I can get). But I am constantly reading books and articles and looking for ways to up my game when it comes to writing. Ultimately that's one of my goals here: to elevate the craft of writing to new heights, tell my story, and inspire others along the way. There is something so spiritual about wanting to create something of value and improve on it to make it the best it can be, for the benefit of the people. It's a spiritual journey for me because everyone has a purpose in life, whether they find it or not. For me, I'm finding that helping people is a big part of, if not the main purpose of my life. To live and lead with love.
What's Next?
I'm taking a week or so to disconnect from everything, and then when I get back I will devise a legit plan for moving forward with the blog. But you can expect content at more regular (and shorter) intervals. You can expect more verbosenessnessness from me, and you can expect to see a lot more Disney references (told you they'd be around to stay). I will post an update when I have a schedule or a game plan moving forward, and I hope to make it more inclusive and engaging (as was the original intent), and I will see how to make that possible.
Again, if you have ever clicked a link to this site, talked about with friends, shit talked it, shared it, laughed with, laughed at, or cried while reading it, thank you. This win is as much yours as it is mine, and I hope to share many with you in the future, inshAllah. If you have feedback or ideas for future content, please feel free to email me at pisforpositive@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you all and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Again, thank you all so much, and happy growing.
